5th Annual Queens Rising Returns in June 2026

Queens Rising, the borough-wide multidisciplinary arts celebration, is back this June for its 5th annual season! Join us for Queens Risingโ€“presented programs featuring live music, performances, exhibitions, and moreโ€”all showcasing the incredible talent of Queens. And best of all, itโ€™s FREE!ย 

This yearโ€™s featured series, Queens Rising Presents: One Borough, Infinite Voices, celebrates the richness and diversity of Queens by highlighting local artists whose work captures the voices, stories, and lived experiences that shape the boroughโ€™s vibrant cultural landscape.

Queens Art

Queens Rising celebrates five years with an exclusive kickoff gathering at RW Prime insideย Resorts World New York City, launching this yearโ€™s theme, One Borough, Infinite Voices. The event brings together elected officials, cultural leaders, institutional partners, and artists for an elegant midday gathering of networking, enjoying live music by Grammy Nomineeย Roman Lajara.

Queens Art

Experience the energy of New York City nightlife at Resorts World New York City with a full lineup of free live entertainment throughout June as part of Queens Rising. From local bands to dynamic DJs, enjoy vibrant performances every Wednesday through Saturday in one of Queensโ€™ premier entertainment destinations. While the 1st floor undergoes an exciting transformation, all live entertainment will take place on the 2nd floor in the Red Wall Art Gallery and RW Prime.

Did you know coloring has a wealth of health and wellness benefits? Adult coloring books are more than just florals and pencils to paper. Join wellness practitioner Fiona Harvey, MPH for an engaging discussion and activity that focuses on coloring, mindfulness and self-care. We will discuss the benefits of coloring and how you can spark creativity and empower yourself simultaneously.

โ€œDown with the Kingโ€ centers male artistsโ€™ visual interpretations of peace, flowers, freedom, and happinessโ€”reflecting themes of healing, liberation from stereotypes, and inner contentment. Inspired by Run-D.M.C., the title speaks to spiritual re-centering and Hip Hop legacy. Presented during Menโ€™s Health Month in June, the exhibition highlights mental well-being and challenges stigma. It creates space for male-identified artists to explore emotional healing and receive symbolic โ€œflowersโ€ of support, fostering peace and a stronger sense of self.

Powered by Resorts World NYC and Northwell Health (LIJ Forest Hills), proud champions of arts, culture, and community across Queens, this festive evening brings fun for all ages. Experience the whimsical wonders of Bindlestiff Family Cirkus, dance to the sounds of Conjunto Los Chachos, enjoy the lively rhythms of The Showtime Dance Band, and catch a special set by legendary DJ Ralph โ€œUncle Ralphโ€ McDaniels. Itโ€™s a night where food, music, and the arts come alive.ย  Admission is free, and all food items are $6 or less.

Long before stages and studios, people sang while they worked, celebrated, grieved, and gathered. Come reconnect with that natural creative instinct and learn how songs begin.

Join Yahir Montes for an intimate evening celebrating the timeless beauty of the bolero. Through live performances, youโ€™ll sing beloved boleros and explore the rich history of the genre, from iconic composers like Agustรญn Lara and Armando Manzanero to the emotional storytelling that defines this music and his evolution throughout the history.

Join us for this free, all-levels-welcome, come-as-you-are-improv-workshop-and-community-jam! Whether youโ€™re improv curious, brand new to the art form or a seasoned improviser, come connect, play, and succeed together in a supportive, joy-filled space. Katha Cato, our facilitator will help you find your comfort level and will make sure we are creating space for all levels of ‘Yes AND!” Be ready for 90 minutes of collaborative storytelling.

Queens Theatreโ€™s B-Side Open Stage returns for a special Juneteenth gathering centered on expression, liberation, and community.

This multidisciplinary open stage invites artists in music, poetry, dance, and storytelling to share work exploring identity, history, joy, and resistance. In the spirit of Juneteenth, the evening celebrates freedom through art and collective experienceโ€”alongside food, local vendors, and space to connect.
